Mike Benshoof CEO, Yingst Building Group

Mike Benshoof is CEO of Yingst Building Group, a central Pennsylvania homebuilder operating across four divisions: Yingst New Homes, Yingst On-Your-Lot, Yingst Remodeling, and Yingst Commercial Construction. Through its affiliate Yingst Land Management, the company also controls and develops the lots that feed its new home communities. Mike acquired the company in 2025 and is scaling it into a multi-market platform.

Mike has spent more than 35 years in residential construction. He began in his family's remodeling and homebuilding business, then spent seven years at NVR in production and sales management before serving as Director of Business Analysis for the Economics Group at the National Association of Home Builders.

In 2002 he co-founded SMA Consulting, building it into a national practice serving builders across the United States and Canada before selling his interest in 2019. In 2007 he co-founded Red Door Homes, a national on-your-lot homebuilding brand, where he serves today as CEO and Chairman of the Board.

From 2015 to 2024, Mike served as President of Berks Homes, growing the company from 109 closings and $32 million in revenue to 550 closings and over $200 million in nine years before selling his ownership interest.

Mike is a published author and a longtime speaker at the International Builders' Show, the Canadian Home Builders' Association, and NAHB 20 Clubs, where his sessions on financial management, job cost control, and profit improvement consistently draw strong attendance. He holds a degree from Penn State University and an MBA in Financial Management and Economics from Marymount University.
